Self-care
Regular Exercise
Self-care is crucial at any age, but as we get older, it becomes even-more important to prioritise our physical, mental and emotional and spiritual well-being.
We sometimes think it is easier to use ‘getting older’ as an excuse for not looking after ourselves.
We need to consider recent brain research. Scientists have determined that the brain is neuroplastic. This means that the brain is adaptable and changing. Scientists talk about how we can change our brains with our minds. That is an amazing discovery.
There is hope for us on our exciting journey ahead.
However we have to do our part. Let’s start with regular exercise.
Regular Exercise is important for us to maintain strength, flexibility and cardiovascular health. we don’t have to become “Gym Bunnies” or marathon runners.
Exercise could include, daily walking, swimming, yoga. or strength training.
Start simply and gently. Do something you could enjoy doing regularly.
Remember, self-care is a personal journey.
